Meet Kathleen

Meet Kathleen Faliskie, the founder, pastry chef, and creative force behind Fleen’s.

Handcrafted Fleen’s dessert

For Kathleen Faliskie, pastry has always been about more than dessert. It’s about creating something memorable, bringing people together, and making life’s moments a little sweeter.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Kathleen has spent more than a decade building a career in pastry. By 23, she had earned the title of Executive Pastry Chef, going on to help develop pastry programs, create custom cakes and desserts, and refine a style that blends pastry-chef precision with an easy sense of fun.

Her work eventually brought her to the Food Network, where she competed on Spring Baking Championship: Easter, but her biggest leap came in 2024, when she decided to turn years of experience, creativity, and a lifelong love of baking into a business of her own.

That leap became Fleen’s.

What began with custom cakes and desserts has grown into a dessert studio built around the idea that exceptional pastry doesn’t have to feel overly serious. Fleen’s brings together thoughtful flavors, playful design, and beautifully made desserts for everything from weddings and celebrations to classes, events, and the everyday moments worth making special.

Along the way, Kathleen was named Best of Loudoun 2025 and 2026 for Custom Cake Design and became the author of Bake Someone’s Day, a children’s story and cookbook created to share the joy of baking with the next generation.

Today, Fleen’s is the culmination of everything Kathleen loves about pastry: creativity, craftsmanship, connection, and a little bit of whimsy. Because around here, dessert isn’t saved for special occasions. Dessert is the occasion.
